Nemiroff’s Horilka Will Find Political Asylum.

KommersantЪ.

A major Ukrainian vodka-producing company Nemiroff announced its intention to partially transfer vodka production from Ukraine to Russia yesterday. The company will build a factory in central Russia, which will require between $30-35 million. Nemiroff explains that transferring production to Russia will minimize the political risk in case of conflicts between Russia and Ukraine.

Nemiroff Holding president Alexander Glus told Kommersant that the board of directors decided in late April to move vodka production to Russia. The company is looking for a site within 200 kilometers from Moscow. The construction is to begin next year, or even late this year, and will cost $30-35 million. The factory will produce vodka for Russian market.
